Classsic logos: Bibendum - World Of Classic Cars -
Bibendum (or the Michelin Man to you and me) is one of the most iconic brand logos in the world. He was introduced at the Lyon Exhibition of 1894. It’s surprising that he’s proven so enduring considering he started life as a cigar chomping, champagne quaffing character whose catchphrase was ‘now is the time to drink’. He was quickly nicknamed ‘the road drunkard’. This would be more than enough to get most ad agencies fired these days but the early 1900s were hardier times and Bib proved a hit.
