Ferrari Testarossa 1989 |
Often one to eschew tradition and break new ground, Ferrari chose to unveil their new car in 1984 on the stage of the famous Lido nightclub on the Champs-Élysées in Paris. The Testarossa was then officially exhibited at the Paris Auto Show the following day, creating a spectacular impact.
The Testarossa was an extreme and wild design in contrast to its contemporaries, and it stood out from the crowd. The stunning Pininfarina design quickly became an icon of 1980s style and excess, adorning the bedroom walls of teenagers around the world.
However, it was not just the Testarossa’s looks that made it famous. It was also a Hollywood celebrity in its own right. Starring perhaps most famously with Don Johnson and Philip Michael Thomas in the hit TV series Miami Vice, the Testarossa featured in a huge number of movies, TV shows, and music videos, cementing its appeal.
