Jaguar XK 120 Roadster 1954 |
Featuring a swooping and streamlined design that screamed speed, performance, and sex appeal, Jaguar’s XK 120 changed the world when it was unveiled at the Earls Court Motor Show in 1948. More importantly, it had the performance to back up its breath-taking appearance. In 1949, following a speed run on a Belgian highway in which an XK 120 ran 126 mph with its windshield on and 132 mph without, the XK 120 was deemed the fastest production car in the world.
This stunning XK 120, chassis 676091, was delivered new in 1954 to Frankly W. Taylor in California. After spending the majority of its life in the dry California climate, the Jaguar was then sold to Europe in 2010, where the new Italian owner sent it to Tappezzeria Maieli, near Mantova, to be re-trimmed in tan, with a matching hood, as well as have it serviced for essential maintenance.
